Partners and Sponsors

The RGS Econ is based on a partnership between public and private entities. Thus, RGS Econ is partly financed by member institutions (Ruhr University of Bochum, TU Dortmund University, University of Duisburg-Essen) of the University Alliance Metropolis Ruhr (UAMR) and partly by the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wirtschaftswissenschaften (RWI).

The public aspect is managed by the Ministry of Science and Research (MIWF) of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW). The foundation of RGS Econ here is to be seen as a pillar of the reform of higher education. The RGS Econ is funded as one of 17 Graduate Programs in the  “NRW-Forschungsschulen” program.

In addition the RGS Econ was supported by the "Pakt für Forschung und Innovation" ("Pact for Research and Innovation") of the Leibniz-Association from 2006 to 2008. The "Pact for Research and Innovation" is one part of the Excellence Initiative by the German Federal and State Governments, which was created to promote excellence in German Research Institutes.
